Sleep like an angel,
like soft music,كموسيقى خافتةٍ
like the kiss of a sea.
My beloved,
my broken icon.
Just for you,لأجلِكَ
my hand is a children’s storybook,يداي كتابٌ لحكايا الأطفالِ
and my voice is a lantern.
Sleep as deep as my insomnia.
I see a cozy café
like a shell in an ocean.
I see children making tearboats out of our poetry.
I see their wings touching the surface of our sobbing,
trembling, falling.
I see the world as a blue chamber.
Do you see what I see?
The universe begins with my eyelid
and ends at your shores.
Do you see me in the mirrors,
loving you and raving?
Sleep
like an ancient desire,كرغبةٍ قديمةٍ
like a city on a god’s fringe.
As the sleep hammock
can’t accommodate two.
